The Antrim Square Set

The Antrim Square Set:

This is a relatively new set, composed in Australia.

Pattern for 1st figure:

All: lead around^*2, lead back and swing
[Ladies: right hand star, left hands home]
[Gents: right hand star, left hands home]
Tops: dance the Figure
All: Antrim Square^*4 with Tops leading
[All: house]
Sides: dance the Figure
All: Antrim square with Sides leading
All: house to finish

Pattern for 2nd and 3rd figures:

All: lead around, lead back and swing
Tops: dance the Figure
All: Antrim Square with Tops leading
Sides: dance the Figure
All: Antrim square with Sides leading
All: house to finish

Figure:

1st figure (reel):

house (8), square^*3 (8)

2nd figure (jig):

Ladies cross right-to-right, gents cross left-to-left, ladies back, gents back (8), swing in four (8), swing your partner (8)

3rd figure (slide)

slide in/out, dance to opposite (8), slide in/out, dance back home (8), swing in the corners (8), swing your partner (8)

Notes:

*1: Pattern: the pattern for all three figures is the same, except that in the first figure, there are two extra parts; the star before the tops dance the figure and the house before the sides dance the figure.

*2: Lead:
Lead around holding both hands, with the gent's right arm on the lady's shoulder, turn clockwise on the spot and lead back, with the gent's left arm on the lady's shoulder.

*3: Square:
Gents arm on lady's waist, advance to the couple on the right, reverse into the opposite place and dance to home.

*4: Antrim Square:

Leading couples: take nearest hands, advance to the centre, give your free hand to the person opposite, face in to the set and reverse out with your new partner
Other two couples: face each other, reverse to the corners and advance to your new partner
Repeat with your new partner, with the other couples leading
All: swing your partner at home
